For 50 years, MOSAIC has been helping newcomers build new lives in Canada while strengthening communities across Metro Vancouver and beyond.

What began in 1976 as a small grassroots initiative has grown into one of Canada’s largest immigrant-serving organizations. Today, MOSAIC supports more than 33,000 clients each year across over 50 locations, with the support of more than 500 staff and 400 volunteers.

The impact of MOSAIC is not measured solely by numbers. It is seen in the everyday moments that shape a person’s future. A newcomer landing their first job. A parent navigating an unfamiliar school system. A refugee finding safety and stability. A family building a sense of belonging in a new country.

MOSAIC provides a wide range of services that meet people where they are. From employment support and language training to mental health services, refugee sponsorship, and programs for youth, seniors, and families, each service is designed to help individuals move forward with confidence.

Stronger Communities, Shared Success

This work creates a ripple effect. When newcomers succeed, communities grow stronger. Local economies benefit from skilled talent entering the workforce. Businesses gain diverse perspectives. Communities become more inclusive, vibrant, and resilient.

At the heart of MOSAIC’s approach is a simple belief: newcomers strengthen the social, cultural, and economic fabric of Canada.

Evolving to Meet Changing Needs

Over the decades, MOSAIC has evolved alongside the communities it serves. From supporting individuals learning English in the 1970s to addressing today’s complex needs, such as employment pathways, mental health, and community health services, its work continues to adapt while staying grounded in compassion, inclusion, and connection.

This milestone year marks both a celebration of the past and a commitment to the future. As communities across Canada continue to grow and change, the need for accessible and responsive newcomer services is more important than ever.

MOSAIC’s programs rely on the support of donors, partners, and community members to remain strong and accessible for those who need them most.

Be Part of the Impact

Every contribution helps provide essential services that enable individuals and families to rebuild their lives, pursue opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. After 50 years, the mission remains clear: to create a more inclusive and thriving Canada where everyone has the opportunity to belong and succeed.

You can be part of this impact. Support MOSAIC’s work and help build stronger communities for the next 50 years.
