Naomi Campbell has shown her appreciation for NHS staff by donating food gift bags to a London hospital.
The supermodel grew up in Streatham, south London, and paid tribute to her roots by teaming up with restauranteur Giuseppe Cipriani to give 600 packages containing tasty treats to frontline Covid-19 workers at St George’s Hospital.
“I would like to say thank you to the frontline staff at St George’s Hospital in South London, who like so many healthcare professionals across the UK continue to work tirelessly around the clock in these difficult times,” Naomi wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for putting yourselves out there day in and day out risking your lives to save others. Let’s continue to look out for each other and uplift our strong and amazing NHS heroes.”
Each food package contained four bottles of virgin Bellini cocktail, pasta, a jar of tomato and basil sauce, and a peach plum cake.
The 50-year-old star added that she will always be a “proud South London girl” and although she is currently living in the U.S., she maintains a deep connection to her hometown and wants to show support for the staff working tirelessly in challenging circumstances.
Molly Simpson from the St George’s Hospital Charity said: “We are so grateful to Naomi Campbell and Giuseppe Cipriani for their incredible donation towards our staff ‘welling boxes’. The boxes have created so many smiles amongst our staff.”
This isn’t the first time Naomi has collaborated with Cipriani to carry out an act of goodwill. Last year, the pair delivered food baskets to those in need across New York City.
