Taylor Swift has made a seven-figure donation to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Taylor Swift has donated $1 million to help support those affected by the recent tornadoes in Tennessee.
Severe storms and tornadoes swept through parts of the U.S. state on Saturday, killing at least six people and causing extensive property damage.
In response to the devastation, the 33-year-old singer made a sizeable donation to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
On Monday, CEO Hal Cato confirmed Swift’s contribution to the organisation, which helps residents by providing financial assistance, food, temporary housing, and debris clean-up.
Swift previously donated $1 million to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund in March 2020 to support victims of those tornadoes.
“Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me,” the pop superstar wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time.
The Cruel Summer singer was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Nashville with her family as a teenager to pursue her musical career. While she has now homes in other U.S. states, Swift still has properties in Tennessee and still votes there.
Swift is known for her philanthropy. Most recently, she made generous contributions to food banks in every U.S. city she played throughout her Eras Tour earlier this year.
