Versace has dropped a new capsule collection to help raise funds for LGBTQ+ charities.
To show her support for Pride during June 2020, Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace has unveiled a line of apparel featuring rainbow text. A portion of the sales will go towards two organizations – Pride Live in the U.S. and Arcigay in Europe.
“Last year, I had the honor of becoming a Stonewall Ambassador. Supporting LGBTQ+ people has always been a priority for me,” she wrote alongside a picture of her modeling a black T-shirt from the range. “Now more than ever, it’s important we add actions to our words.”
Inspired by the rainbow flag – designed by artist Gilbert Baker in 1978 to symbolize social equality – Versace’s new collection also includes the brand’s famed baroque-style motifs.
Pieces include tank tops, crop tops, leggings, swimwear, socks, and slides, while there is also a bracelet made from woven leather. Items in the Versace x Pride collection are priced from $75 – $495 (£60 – £380).
“Versace celebrates Pride Month and supports the LGBTQ+ community with a special limited-edition collection of warm-weather designs and comfortable activewear. A portion of sales from the collection will go to charities working towards inclusivity,” a brand representative added.
