Conseil Scolaire Viamonde is a public French-language school board that provides a unique Francophone experience to students in Southwestern Ontario. The school board consists of 41 elementary schools and 15 secondary schools, spread over a large area in the Southwestern Ontario region, with 14 schools in Toronto. Thanks to its dedicated staff, state-of-the-art technology, caring and cultured environment, Viamonde ensures that students can develop their French language skills and cultural identity while also obtaining a first-class education.
One of the key advantages of attending a French language school is the opportunity to learn in a francophone immersive environment. By providing an environment in which students can learn and practice French daily, Conseil Scolaire Viamonde is helping to ensure that Francophone culture and language are preserved and passed onto future generations. By grade 12, students who graduate are officially bilingual and have access to a multitude of post-secondary programs at both French and English universities and colleges, in Canada and abroad.
In addition to language skills, Conseil Scolaire Viamonde also places a strong emphasis on academic excellence. They are committed to helping young people succeed and their students consistently score well above provincial averages in a huge array of subjects, including math and science, as their most recent results on the EQAO provincial tests show.
Another benefit of attending one of Conseil Scolaire Viamonde’s schools is the sense of community that it creates. By attending a French language school, students become part of a Francophone community in a majority English-speaking province. The school board also offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including sports teams, music programs, and clubs, which help students to build friendships and develop their interests outside of the classroom. Viamonde is also proud of its “Excellence Programs” that allow students to discover and explore various fields as early as Grade 7.
