Did you know that the second
Friday in October is always World Egg Day? This year, October 9th marks the 30th anniversary and follows the theme of Protein that Powers and Protects.

Even without a designated holiday, egg farmers from across Ontario applaud nutritious, versatile, and high-quality eggs any chance they get. With 13 vitamins and minerals plus protein and just 70 calories, there’s a lot to celebrate! Just one serving of two eggs provides 12 grams of protein, keeping you fuller for longer.

In Ontario, there are over 500 egg and pullet farm families that work to bring fresh, local, and high-quality eggs to stores across the province. Egg farmers must meet the requirements of rigorous on-farm food safety and animal care programs outlined in the Egg Quality AssuranceTM (EQA®) program. When you buy eggs in your grocery store, you are supporting local egg and pullet farm families. So, look for the EQA® symbol on your next carton of eggs this World Egg Day and every day in between.

Of course, every celebration is made better with dessert, and eggs are versatile enough to create a decadent treat. If you need some motivation, try this Easy Silky Chocolate Mousse recipe, which is simple to make, and has a velvety smooth texture. Go ahead and enjoy World Egg Day, one spoonful at a time!
